Q. What does a wellness coach do?
A. A wellness coach guides you on your journey to optimal wellness. We can’t do it for you, but through our experience and education, we can help you formulate a plan that will work with your schedule and at your pace. Providing checkpoints along the way, we can help you navigate your way back to feeling great!
Q. How long will it take to start feeling better?
A. For some, in just a matter of a couple of weeks. For others, it can take months. Truly, it depends on the complexity of your individual issues. Many times, underlying issues reveal themselves after the primary imbalance is under control. And it also depends on your willingness to modify your lifestyle to affect the change.
Q. What type of ‘diet’ do you prescribe? Paleo? Vegetarian? Low Carb?
A. We are trained to meet you where you are. In other words, if you prefer to be a vegetarian, we will tailor your plan to respect vegetarian needs. The right balance of protein, fat and carbohydrates differs with each person. For some, a Paleo-type diet is best. For others, eating dairy or grains can be acceptable. Your coaching plan will be tailored to your individual needs.
Q. What does a Functional Evaluation entail?
A. A functional evaluation (FE) helps us determine specific areas of weakness. We use non-invasive methods to show you how to test various reflex points, neuro-lymphatic points, and vascular points on your own body.
Q. Do I have to get lab testing done?
A. No, all lab testing is optional. The functional evaluation that we coach with all our clients will reveal imbalances and priorities.
Q. Why do I need an analysis of lab testing using optimal reference ranges?
A. You may have been told that your lab test results were in ‘normal reference ranges’ from a conventional healthcare standpoint when, in fact, you may be experiencing symptoms leading to full blown imbalances. Reference ranges differ from lab to lab. Remember that in many cases reference ranges are established by labs collecting the results of the sick people that come into the lab, so they may not reflect optimal health ranges.
Q. Why can’t I get these lab tests run at my doctor’s office?
A. You can! If you have medical insurance, many of these lab tests will be covered. You’ll want to check with your insurance plan first. Lab tests that you order yourself or through Mind Blowing Wellness are not covered by medical insurance. If you have a Health Savings Account or Flexible Spending Account, those tests that aren’t covered by your insurance may be reimbursable by your HSA or FSA.
Q. Don’t I need a doctor to order lab tests?
A. No, you can order many tests yourself at rates much lower than doctors get! Some of the tests can be done at home (those requiring saliva, urine, hair or even a finger prick). Blood serum tests will be drawn at a lab in your area, locations will be provided by the individual lab. For those without medical insurance, the ability to order your own tests is a fantastic benefit.
Q. How much do the lab tests cost?
A. It depends on the lab and the test. For example, a CBC (Complete Blood Count) can be as little as $29. Remember if you have medical insurance, your doctor can order tests that are covered under your insurance plan. Sometimes it’s less expensive to order the test yourself rather than paying an insurance deductible and visiting your doctor twice to get the results.
Q. What lab tests do I need to do?
A. Based on our initial meeting, we can determine which tests you might want to consider ordering.
Q. I have already had some tests done at my doctor’s office. Do I need to do them again?
A. You don’t if they are recent. Send us a copy of your results for further analysis.
Q. Do you only work with women?
A. Yes, at this time our focus is on women.
Q. Do I need to come into your office?
A. No, all our sessions will be online using a video conference call service or on the phone.
Q. Do you coach clients outside of the U.S.A.?
A. No, we only work in the U.S.A. at this time.
